Two Waves Head to Battle in the Bay

SAN FRANCISCO, CALIF. – Two members of the Pepperdine women's tennis team will get a head start on the 2019-20 season this weekend as sophomore Daria Kuczer and freshman three-seed Lisa Zaar travel to northern California for the Battle in the Bay Classic.
ZAAR'S PATH:
Match #1: Friday, September 20 | 12 p.m. | vs winner of Abby Amos (Arizona) and Anna Campana (Wake Forest) | California Tennis Club - San Francisco, Calif.
KUCZER'S CRUISE:
Match #1: Friday, September 20 | 12 p.m. | vs winner of Alexis Franco (Wake Forest) and Klara Kosan (Pacific) | California Tennis Club - San Francisco, Calif.

BRACKETOLOGY:
Zaar was awarded a #3 seed as Kuczer was named to the top 10, giving each Pepperdine player a bye through the first round.
On Zaar's side of the bracket sits San Diego's #22-ranked Solymar Colling, the #1 seed and West Coast Conference's 2018 Freshman of the Year winner. The #34 player in the country, USC's Salma Ewing, was awarded the #2 seed and placed on Kuczer's side of the bracket.
