Women's Golf Concludes Season at NCAA Norman Regional

NORMAN, Oklahoma – The Pepperdine women's golf team concluded the 2018-19 season with a 15th-place finish at the NCAA Norman Regional on Wednesday, though Hira Naveed added one more below-par round to her record-setting career.
 
The Waves shot a three-day total of 904 (299-309-296) at the par-72 Jimmie Austin OU Golf Club. Only the top six teams advanced to the NCAA Championships. Pepperdine was making its 21st consecutive NCAA Regional appearance. Naveed was one of three Pepperdine seniors playing in their final college round.
 
PLAYER SCORES
  • Senior Hira Naveed (Perth, Australia) tied for 19th place with a 1-over 217 (71-76-70). It was her 16th below-par round of the season, extending her own Pepperdine record. She had four birdies today. The WCC Player of the Year finished her Pepperdine tenure with a career stroke average of 73.59 (fifth in program history), while her 2018-19 season scoring average of 71.96 ranks second best. Eight of her nine stroke-play tournaments resulted in a top-20 finish this season, and she posted three victories.
  • Junior Momoka Kobori (Rangiora, New Zealand) tied for 59th at 227 (73-78-76). Her final round included three birdies.
  • Senior Patricia Wong (Walnut, Calif./Walnut HS) tied for 76th at 232 (78-77-77). She had one birdie on the day.
  • Senior Hannah Haythorne (Honolulu, Hawai'i/IMG Academy) tied for 82nd at 235 (82-78-75). She had two birdies.
  • Freshman Kathrine Chan (Richmond, B.C., Canada) was 85th at 236 (77-84-75). Her final round featured three birdies.
