MALIBU, Calif. – The #6 Pepperdine women's tennis team advanced to the NCAA Women's Tennis Super Regional with the team's 4-0 win over California on Saturday afternoon at Ralphs Straus Tennis Center.

MATCH RECAP
The Waves set the tone in doubles play. Failla and Iamachkine took care of their opponents 6-1 on court one for the first doubles match. Lekaj and Milovanovic quickly followed suit with a 6-1 victory of their own to clinch the doubles point.

In singles play, Pepperdine kept the momentum high and won every single first set. In the second set, Iamachkine made quick work of her opponent, clinching the Waves' first singles point in convincing 6-1, 6-1 fashion. After going to 7-5 in the first set, Lahey bounced back in the second set to win in dominating fashion to put the Waves just one match point away from advancing. Both Kuczer and Failla were one game away from winning their matches on courts five and three. Failla won her match just before Kuczer did, giving the Waves the victory. Lekaj was up 4-3 on court two when the match was clinched.

NEXT UP
The Waves advance to the NCAA Women's Tennis Super Regional, which will be held next week against the winner of Florida State and UCF.
