SANTA MONICA, Calif. – For the fourth-straight season, the #5 Pepperdine beach volleyball team won the West Coast Conference Championship first round matchup with a sweep on Friday afternoon. The top-seeded Waves swept past #4 seed San Francisco 5-0 at the Ocean Park Beach Courts.

MATCH RECAP
The Waves came out swinging from start to finish, collecting first set wins on all five courts to set the tone.
Simone Priebe and
Katie Gavin finished first on court five, taking down Lena Bondar and Tanner Pemberton 21-7, 21-9.
Deahna Kraft and
Gigi Hernandez then defeated Emily Zinger and Madelyn LaFollette 21-10, 21-11 to put the Waves in a position to clinch.
Nikki Lyons and
Maddie Dilfer then sealed the deal with a 21-13, 21-14 win over Camille Araujo and Victoria Rogers on court four to clinch the overall dual win.
Alexis Filippone and
Skylar Caputo followed suit with a 21-10, 21-16 victory over Moana To'oto'o and Ella Reames in the No. 3 position.
Court one had the toughest fight from across the net, as the Dons forced a third set.
Heidi Dyer and
Brook Bauer split the first two sets 21-10, 18-21 before battling out a 15-9 third set win to make it a 5-0 sweep to close the day.
NEXT UP
Tomorrow, the Waves continue the the West Coast Conference Championships against #2 seed and PCH Cup rival Loyola Marymount at 9 a.m. The winner of the match moves on to the Championship final at 1:30 p.m.
