Waves Complete Day Three at PCSC Championships

LA MIRADA, Calif. – The Pepperdine women's swim and dive team finished the third day of the Pacific Coast Swim and Dive Conference Championships on Friday.
The Waves are currently in third place with 791 points. They are 32 points behind second place Fresno Pacific and 64 points behind first place Cal State East Bay.
MEET RECAP
The best race of the day for the Waves came in the 100 breast, where Julianna Chan took second place, swimming a time of 1:04.39. Anna Riekhof also had a nice finish, with a time of 1:05.79 in the same race.
Sammie Slater finished third in the 200 free, the best for the Waves, with a time of 1:53.88. In the 400 medley relay, the team of Cassie Anderson, Chan, Haley Bergthold and Amy Griffin combined for a fifth-place finish with a time of 3:52.81. Khloe McCarthy had a nice race in the 400 IM, taking fourth place with a time of 4:29.30.
Ali North finished fifth in the 3-meter dive finals with a score of 214.65.
QUOTABLE
"This team has a lot of fight in them," said head coach Joe Spahn. "They came back and swam stronger at night again!
"Everyone team is tired at this point but it's now about who can come back and put together a great final prelims session to set up their final session. I have no doubt in this team to have the best day of the meet tomorrow!"

The Waves finish the PCSC Championships on Saturday in La Mirada. They are looking to win the conference for the first time in program history.
