Waves Compete in San Diego

SAN DIEGO, Calif. - The Pepperdine women's swimming and diving team traveled to San Diego, Calif. on Friday to compete in a dual meet at San Diego State, falling by a score of 189-90. Taylor Basin was the Waves' top scorer, placing 2nd in the 3-meter diving and 4th in the 1-meter dive.
Results 
Megan Thomas had the only first-place finish for the Waves, in the 100 fly, with a 1:00.51. Other top three finishers for the Waves were Nicole Matheson and Paige Bracket, also in the 100 fly, with times of 1:02.68 and 1:03.59, respectively. Amy Griffin also took home a top three finish for the Waves in the 100 free, with a time of :54.51. The 200 medley relay team of Sammie Slater, Julianna Chan, Thomas and Griffin took third place with a time of 1:52.85
Pepperdine also had a multitude of other top five finishes, including Matheson in the 200 free with a 1:58.34 (4th), Slater in the 100 back with a time of 1:01.23 (4th), Chan in the 100 breast with a time of 1:08.85 (4th), Lauren Allard in the 200 breast with a 2:32.86 (4th), Caroline Boone with a 4th place finish in the 50 free with a time of :25.50, and Rachel Wilt with a 5th place time in the 50 free of :25.47. Basin scored a personal best 187.27 in the 3-meter dive, and a season best 218.10 in the 1-meter dive.
