Freshman volleyball player Tarah Wylie is one of three women to play all 64 sets so far this season. The youngest of four, the 6-foot-5 middle blocker is from Noblesville, Indiana. Wylie, who is averaging 2.64 kills and 1.05 blocks per set, discusses her transition to playing at Pepperdine and her hopes for the season below.

Q: How has the transition from playing in high school to playing collegiate volleyball been sofar?
A:The transition from playing in high school to playing collegiate volleyball was difficult at first because the speed of the game is much faster and you have to play smarter. Every college team consists of the best players from their previous high schools so there are no easy matches.
Q: What has been the biggest challenge for you joining a new team?
A:Joining this new team wasn't as hard as I thought because all my teammates and coaches were very welcoming. It also helped that I came in with a big freshman class of seven girls so we took on the new college experience together.
Q: What do you like to do for fun outside of volleyball?
A:Outside of volleyball I enjoy spending time with friends while going to the beach and hiking. I also love spending time with my siblings and dogs.
Q: As a freshman, what is it like balancing academics with a rigorous practice and game schedule?
A:It was hard to get used to at first but we came to Pepperdine in June for summer school so it helped me slowly get used to the schedule.Â
Q: How does it feel to be one of three people that have played in every set so far?
A:I feel blessed and grateful to be given the opportunity to play so much my freshman year.
Q: What are your hopes for the rest of the season?
A:I have high hopes for the rest of the season because I know this team has so much talent and potential. We hope to finish strong and at the top of our conference this year as well as getting a bid into the NCAA Tournament.Â
