Cross Country Teams Compete vs. USD, UNLV

IRVINE, Calif. " The Pepperdine cross country teams got in one last competition before next weekend's West Coast Conference Championships as the Waves ran against San Diego and UNLV on Sunday morning at William Mason Regional Park.
"Our women all ran as a pack and finished together, and our men mostly ran in a pack," Pepperdine Coach Robert Radnoti said. "We were saving ourselves for the conference meet. This was a good venue to get this done at."
The WCC Championships will be Saturday (Oct. 31) in Spokane, Wash., at Plantes Ferry Park. TheW.tv will provide live coverage beginning at 10 a.m.
In the women's 3K against the Toreros and Rebels, all seven women that ran finished with a time of 14:14. San Diego was first, UNLV was second and Pepperdine was third. In the men's 4K against only USD, junior Gordie Thomas (Fallbrook, Calif./Great Oak HS) came in fifth place in 16:31 and sophomore Rudy Gonzalez (Whittier, Calif./California HS) finished sixth in 16:59. The other eight Waves ran between 17:00 and 17:05. USD won the head-to-head scoring.
