Women's Tennis Beats Portland 4-0 at WCCs

SAN DIEGO, Calif. - The #44 Pepperdine women's tennis team had little trouble winning its first-round West Coast Conference Championships match on Friday, as the second-seeded Waves prevailed 4-0 over Portland.
The Waves advance to Saturday's quarterfinals at USD's Barnes Tennis Center and will face either host San Diego or Gonzaga at 3 p.m.
Although several of the matches were left unfinished once the match was clinched, two Waves - sophomores Andrea Oates (Pretoria, South Africa) and sophomore Ali Walters (Newport Beach, Calif./Creekside Christian School/UCLA) - were double winners in both singles and doubles.
The Waves are going for their 22nd WCC title and have won seven in a row. Pepperdine has now won five straight matches.
