Women's Tennis Falls to #10 California

The Golden Bears (12-3) clinched the doubles point by winning the first two matches by 8-5 scores, but Rice (Burlington, Ontario, Canada) and Oates (Pretoria, South Africa) prevailed at #3 doubles with an 8-7 tiebreaker win.
California won all six singles matches, five in straight sets. Sophomore Ali Walters (Newport Beach, Calif./Creekside Christian/UCLA) won her first set at #3 singles by the score of 6-4 but eventually lost in a super-tiebreaker.
The Waves (6-10), who are in the midst of playing their final 12 regular-season matches at home, are back in action tomorrow as they host another highly ranked opponent from the Pacific-10 Conference -- #12 Stanford on Wednesday at 1 p.m.
