Women's Tennis Handles Fresno State, 6-1

The Waves (5-9) changed up a couple of their doubles teams, and it worked as Pepperdine swept all three doubles matches for the first time this season and won the doubles point for the first time in the last five matches.
The Waves carried that momentum into singles, where they won five of six matches over the Bulldogs (0-10) in straight sets. In the wins, eight of the 10 sets were decided by scores of 6-2 or better.
Freshman Marie Zalameda (Los Angeles, Calif./Beverly Hills HS) posted the most dominating victory with a 6-0, 6-1 result at the #4 position. She and junior Anamika Bhargava (Collierville, Tenn./Houston HS) teamed up to win 8-3 at the #1 doubles position. The match-clinching victory was posted by sophomore Ali Walters (Newport Beach, Calif./Creekside Christian/UCLA), 6-4, 6-1, at #3 singles.
The Waves (5-9), who are in the midst of playing their final 12 regular-season matches at home, will face San Diego State on Saturday (March 20) at 1 p.m.
