Zalameda (Los Angeles, Calif./Beverly Hills HS) and junior Anamika Bhargava (Collierville, Tenn./Houston HS) posted an 8-5 victory at #1 to even things up in doubles, but the Seminoles rallied to win at the #2 position to claim the first point of the match.
Zalameda was first to finish in singles with her 6-1, 6-3 victory at the #4 position, but Florida State won the other five matches, four of them in straight sets.
The Waves (4-9), who are in the midst of playing their final 11 regular-season matches at home, next face Fresno State on Saturday (March 13) at 11 a.m. It's part of another doubleheader with the men's team, which squares off against Baylor at 2 p.m.
