Bhargava (Collierville, Tenn./Houston HS) won her third straight match singles match at the #3 position, this one against #123 Csilla Borsanyi thanks to a third-set super-tiebreaker.
The Waves (3-4) also earned a victory at #2 doubles by sophomores Andrea Oates (Pretoria, South Africa) and Ali Walters (Newport Beach, Calif./Creekside Christian HS/UCLA). However, Baylor (6-1) won the doubles point and the first four singles matches before Bhargava put the Waves on the scoreboard.
Three of Pepperdine's four losses this season are to teams currently ranked in the top 10. The Waves are currently in the midst of a five-match stretch away from Malibu. They continue their trip at #30 Texas on Sunday (Feb. 21).
