MALIBU, Calif. - Five members of the Pepperdine women's cross country team competed Friday night at the 5K Titan Invitational hosted by Cal State Fullerton while the rest of their teammates continued preparing for next Saturday's WCC Championships.
Junior Courtney Rolando (Longmont, Colo./Silver Creek HS) was the Waves' fastest runner, posting a season-best time of 19:14.3 on the flat-and-fast campus-based course. Also running for Pepperdine tonight were junior Elizabeth Coe (19:53.2), senior Mary Stutzman (20:15.0), freshmen Sarah Attar (20:16.4) and Makenzie Taylor (20:20.3).
Poppy Lawman of Azusa Pacific won the race in 16:57.8 and led her school to the team championship with 46 points.
