A mathematics major and pre-med student, Burt recently completed her four-year collegiate career with a near-perfect grade-point average. She is currently trekking through Burt’s numerous academic and leadership accomplishments include membership in the Phi Eta Sigma, Golden Key International and Pi Mu Epsilon Mathematics National Honor Societies, and she's served Pepperdine’s Student Government Association as its Executive Vice President. A member of pre-medicine fraternity Phi Delta Epsilon, Burt also has earned a spot on the Dean’s List and received Gold Honors from West Coast Conference over the last three years. On the cross country course this past season, Burt competed and placed among the top-30 runners at four meets, including the Malibu Oceanside Open, Pepperdine Invitational and the Titan Invitational held at Cal State Fullerton, where she posted a season and career best 5K time of 19 minutes and 19.3 seconds. Because Burt was voted onto the All-District VIII First Team by members of the College Sports Information Directors of America (CoSIDA), her name will be forwarded onto the national ballot for Academic All-America. The Track/Cross Country Academic All-America Teams will be released on Friday, June 19. To be nominated for Academic All-America, a student-athlete must be a starter or important reserve with at least a 3.30 cumulative grade point average (on a 4.0 scale) at his/her current institution. No student-athlete is eligible until he/she has completed one full calendar year at his/her current institution and has reached sophomore athletic eligibility.
