Sophia Milo Tabbed All-WCC First Team

MALIBU, Calif. - Sophomore middle blocker Sophia Milo was named first team All-West Coast Conference (WCC) Wednesday morning. Senior Christina Hinds and junior Melissa Mehlhorn were selected honorable mention to round out Pepperdine's postseason accolades.
The 6-foot-4 Milo finished the season with a team-high 125 blocks, including 22 solo and led the team with a .233 hitting percentage. This is the second time in the Portland, Ore., native's career she has been named to the WCC postseason team after earning Freshman of the Year and honorable mention honors in 2003.
Hinds, the 2003 Co-Defensive Player of the Year ranks 15th in the NCAA and first in the WCC at 5.73 digs-per-game. The Beverly Hills, Calif., native had a record setting season as she set the record for most digs in a season, digs in a career and moved into fifth all-time on the WCC list.
Mehlhorn had a solid all-around season recording a team-high 19 double-doubles. The Tempe, Ariz., native averaged 12.16 assists-per-game with 97 total blocks. Her 1.00 blocks-per-game was second to Milo, while her 21 solo blocks was second on the team as well.
San Diego's Devon Forster took Player of the Year honors, while USD's Jackie Bernardin was voted Defensive Player of the Year, Jennifer Petrie was tabbed Coach of the Year and Annalissa Muratore was named Freshman of the Year.
