SAN BRUNO, CALIF., -- Chad Trammell, Jennifer Crossland, Lauren Tyree, Daniella Bosio and Lyndsey Hache' all represented Pepperdine University on the 2003 Fall All-Academic teams, the West Coast Conference announced today. Women's cross country was the only sport with more than one athlete named to a team.
The 2003 West Coast Conference Fall All-Academic teams honor some of the league's finest examples of the consummate scholar-athlete. At the completion of each athletic season, the WCC selects an all-academic squad for each of the participating sponsored sports. To be considered, a student-athlete must earn at least a 3.20 cumulative grade point average (GPA), while also being a significant contributor to his or her team.
"These honorees represent the commitment of WCC student-athletes to both academic and athletic excellence," said WCC Commissioner Michael Gilleran. "Every year it's a difficult process to narrow the long list of qualified nominees from each institution. All of those nominated should be proud of their achievements."
Highlighting the quartet of Waves is men's cross country runner Trammel who recorded the highest GPA with a 3.6 in biology. Women's cross country team member Crossland accounted for a 3.53 in public relations while teammate Tyree had a 3.36 in advertisting, respectively. Sophomore Daniella Bosio was the lone soccer star who made the cut with a 3.56 in political science while women's volleyball senior Hache' tallied a 3.27 in psychology.
