Played three seasons of basketball (1944-46) ... A 1944 All-American on the hardwood ... A member of Pepperdine's first NCAA Tournament team in 1944 and was on teams that placed second and third, respectively, at the 1945 and 1946 NAIA Tournaments ... Had the highest scoring average of anyone in the 1944 NCAA Tournament, averaging 22.5 points in two games ... Led the team in scoring all three seasons (12.8 in 1943-44, 16.7 in 1944-45 and 12.7 in 1945-46) ... Scored 1,464 points in his career, at the time the school record ... Also earned tennis All-American honors in both 1945 and 1946 and was a nationally ranked tennis player ... Has a plaque on the San Pedro (Calif.) SportsWalk ... Graduated in 1947 with a degree in physical education.
