Polee is the fourth men's basketball player to be inducted into the WCC Hall of Honor, joining all-time Pepperdine greats Doug Christie, Dana Jones, Dane Suttle and William "Bird" Averitt.

After transferring to Pepperdine from UNLV, Polee made an immediate impact for the Waves. In 89 games with Pepperdine, Polee averaged 14.3 points, 3.4 rebounds and 3.7 assists per game while leading the Waves to back-to-back WCC titles in 1984-86. The dynamic point guard from Los Angeles was named WCC Player of the Year in his junior and senior seasons, becoming the first Wave to accomplish that feat.

Polee graduated from Pepperdine with a degree in physical education. The Los Angeles Clippers selected Polee in the third round (54th pick) of the 1986 NBA Draft, where he appeared in one season before playing internationally for Colima Lemaneros (Mexico) from 1989-91. He was also a member of the U.S. traveling team in Europe from 1987-89.
