MALIBU, Calif. – Four members of the Pepperdine women's indoor track team were named to the 2023 Indoor Track All-Academic Mountain Pacific Sports Federation team, the league announced today.
Seniors
Skyler Danley (Easton, Pa./Easton Area HS) and
Olivia Miller (Tallahassee, Fla./Lawton Chiles HS) and sophomores
Megan LaCamera (Burbank, Calif./Burbank HS) and
Maddy Ortman (Highlands Ranch, Colo./Valor Christian HS) each earned their first MPSF career honor. Danley is pursuing a sociology degree and holds a 3.952 GPA. Miller is majoring in finance and has a 3.858 GPA. LaCamera is a sports medicine major and holds a 3.302 GPA. Ortman has a 3.735 and is currently pursuing a psychology degree.
During the indoor season, Danley competed in the women's 5,000 meters notching a time of 18:39.93, which was 10 seconds shy of the school record. Miller collected a new one-mile indoor school record in a time of 5:10.33. LaCamera had the squad's fastest indoor 3,000m time, notching a 10:43.41, which was 3.53 seconds away from the school record, which Danley currently holds. Ortman competed in the 200m, 400m and was part of the 4x400m relay squad. Ortman had season-high indoor times of 27.77 in the 200m and 1:03.48 in the 400m.
To be considered, student-athletes must have a 3.00 cumulative grade-point average, have at least sophomore academic and athletic standing, and must have completed fifty percent or more of the institution's competition.
The Waves will be back on the track to continue the outdoor season at two different meets next week. Pepperdine will be competing at the Mt. SAC Relays on April 12-15 in Walnut, Calif., and the Bryan Clay Invitational on April 13-15 in Azusa, Calif.
