MALIBU, Calif. - The No. 2 Portland Pilots proved worthy of their national ranking Friday afternoon at Tari Frahm Rokus Field with a 6-0 win over the Pepperdine women's soccer team.

Portland, which has outscored its two West Coast Conference opponents 13-0, improved to 13-1 with the victory, while the Waves dropped to 7-5-1 (0-1-1 WCC).

The Pilots received a pair of goals from a trio of attackers. Michelle Enyeart scored in the 17th and 41st minutes, then in the second half; both Hailey Kreminski and Charney Burk came off the bench to score four times within a 15-minute window from the 68th through the 83rd minutes.

Portland would have scored a seventh time, but Pepperdine's freshman goalkeeper Roxanne Barker (Irvine, Calif./Woodbridge HS) stopped a Sophie Schmidt penalty kick in the 23rd minute at the corner of the near post. Barker finished the match with three saves.

Portland outshot the Waves 15-6 and held a 10-1 advantage in corner kicks. Burk led all players with four shots, while sophomores Michelle Spacciapolli (San Diego, Calif./Cathedral Catholic HS) and Laura Cole (Whittier, Calif./La Habra HS) paced the Waves' attack with two shots each.

Kelsey Davis collected three saves for the Pilots in improving to 8-1 on the season.

Pepperdine has little time to dwell on this defeat. The Waves will back practicing tomorrow morning in preparation for Sunday's 1 p.m. match against Gonzaga.
